Visheti (vishete) are East African kulkuls. These are sweet tasty snacks made and usually served with coffee (kahawa chungu) or tea. Was traditionally prepared during special celebrations but currently made to be served at teatime or as a snack any time of the day!
1½ cups all purpose flour
3 tbs custard powder (for taste and to soften the vishete)
3 tbs salted butter (if you are using unsalted butter, add a pinch of salt)
¼ tsp cardamom powder
Water or Milk (for mixing)
FOR THE SYRUP
1 cup water
¾ cup sugar
¼ tsp cardamom pods or powder
