This delicious meat recipe can accompany any other mains and be served any time of the day. This is a variation of our East African Fried Meat. Provided here is a basic method for producing that delicious spiced browned/fried meat in tomato paste.

1) To ensure that the meat is fully fried/braised in the tomato paste and spices without burning, make sure you fry it under low heat and gently stir often.
2) The different type of spices used is a matter of personal taste. You can add any spices that constitute the hawaij spice blend. It is all down to personal preference.
3) The type of meat and the cut used will affect the taste of this recipe and the cooking times. Adjust accordingly.
